Bond is a fixed income security as it provides the investor a pre-specified fixed income on periodic intervals through a fixed rate which is commonly called as interest rate or coupon rate. The principal or the investment is repaid on a fixed maturity as per the pre-defined contract. Thus, Bond market is characterized as a safe market with regular fixed income to the investors (Darst, 2008). US Bond market is one of the biggest bond markets around the globe because of its size and number of players offering bonds. There are a number of local and global investors that deals in the US bond market (US Bond Market, 2009).
