The IT companies must administer the practices that are environment friendly and some of the practices are maximizing the energy efficiency of the products, reducing the use of hazardous materials and make most products; recyclable. The green initiatives should be systematic in nature, starting with the planning by the management, even restructuring, if needed, compliance with the standards, end user satisfaction, efficient energy use, proper disposal of electronic waste, using telepresence technologies, while keeping a track of the return on investments (ROI) (Lamb, 2009). We have chosen, Dell for the study of green initiatives. Headquartered in Texas, Dell is a technology systems and services company that manufactures and sells computers, televisions and other technological products. The firm holds a good record of being a responsible and environmentally conscious company; it became the first IT Company that focused on product recycling and was awarded for its efforts to promote the producer responsibility.
