Thus the ebusiness reliability risks include risks of scalability, uptime, verification, and monitoring. The threat to the security is much more than ever and hence the need of proper risk management and planning is required. This is because new technologies like ecommerce are bringing high speed and constant connectivity to companies and their users (employees, customers and suppliers), aiding the global trend. Now new systems are functional without the restriction of geography and time but there is a greater threat to the security and reliability also. According to the ibm.com: Reliability of an application can be measured as the number of bugs identified per 1000 lines of code. For example, 0.1 bugs per kilo lines of code (KLOC) might be one measure of the reliability of the system. However, categorization of bugs and enhancements might be a very involved task in some applications. For some critical software, a bug that can be hazardous to life in any form should always be zero, independent of the size of the software.
Thus for organization it would be of utmost importance to provide secured interface with the users. It should ensure maximum security of the data. i.e for users ensure that users see only the content and services that correspond to their specific roles and security profile .
The business plan which does not include ecommerce risk management will be more vulnerable to the reliability risks. Hence it's very important to have reliability.
