a) Three (3) important properties in building a "good" eBusiness IT Infrastructure are Availability, Reliability, and Scalability. How would you describe these and why are they important?
Ebusiness reliability risks include failure of computer hardware, networks and telecommunications due to outages and environmental disruptions caused by accidents or attacks. Thus proper back up is necessary. Assessing reliability also entails measuring how quickly service could be restored after a system failure.
Thus the ebusiness reliability risks include risks of scalability, uptime, verification, and monitoring. The threat to the security is much more than ever and hence the need of proper risk management and planning is required. For example, 0.1 bugs per kilo lines of code (KLOC) might be one measure of the reliability of the system. However, categorization of bugs and enhancements might be a very involved task in some applications. For some critical software, a bug that can be hazardous to life in any form should always be zero, independent of the size of the software.

The business plan which does not include ecommerce risk management will be more vulnerable to the reliability risks. Hence it's very important to have reliability.
