Online auction. Person-to-person e-commerce.
What are some good points of the site?
Ubiquity, ease of use, large number and variety of items for sale.
What are some negatives about this site?
Becoming too commercial, quality of goods and services is sometimes questionable.
What makes this site "Sticky"?
Large number of users and the fact that the "stock" is continually refreshed.
How would you improve this site or can you?
eBay is making great strides in improving their own site. The addition of eBay stores and want it now postings are just two examples.
From a buyer perspective, the site is fairly complete with a great help system and many safeguards in place to protect new buyers. From a seller's perspective, eBay is becoming expensive and the large number of professional sellers is pushing some of the more casual sellers to other auction sites where they don't have to compete so heavily.
