    Market segmentation is a process of dividing the overall potential market for their products into smaller groups with similar needs and wants so that the company can better develop effective marketing strategies. Thus segmentation involves classifying the market on various parameters such as flavor, age, region etc.

    Thus one of the common segmentation that I will use for Grand Ma sweet treats is on the basis of age. We will have different varieties of sweets and food items for different age category. It will be divided into:

    1 Kids
    We will have healthy food items for the children who need instant breakfast. When they are running late or need to take it with them this would be ideal. The food and sweets will be packed in the small box and will be very handy for them to eat.
    Moreover we will have sweets specially made for kids in toy forms and in variety of flavors.
    2 Youth and Middle age
    For Adults we will have take away healthy food boxes so that they could carry it and eat it on the train or bus or once they get to work. We will also provide all kind of sweets and desserts (All low calories) especially to those who are conscious about their health and fitness.
    3. Old age
    Older people also like to buy individual products so this would be a good target market. Low sweet food is becoming more important for health reasons and thus it's an ideal replacement for cookies and other sugar snacks.
