In this perfect position paper I will discuss about my leadership style as a valued, veteran employee. This discussion is due to the expansion and restructuring of my organization, for which I had been presented with a unique opportunity of determining the position that best suits me. Due to my own leadership style and its knowledge I had been presented with this task as this self-assessment will prominently benefit my company. For this self-assessment of perfect position, I will exhibit the strengths and weaknesses of my leadership style as it will tell me about my-self in a more descriptive and illustrative manner. In addition to this I will compare my leadership approach with the relevant leadership theories so that I can identify the jobs in my organization that would fit my leadership style.

Whether we are overseeing a team at work, captaining a sport team or guiding a major corporation, our leadership style is very important to our success. Deliberately, or subconsciously, everyone use some of the leadership styles at different points of their life like in school and collage our leadership style is different and in our workplace our leadership style is different (Bennis & Nanus, 1985). Same is the case with me, as I also have seen a number of changes in my leadership style. The prominent leadership style that I used in my work place from the beginning is participative leadership style.

Although at my position in my organization, I make the final decision, but I always invite other members of the team to have a say to the decision-making process. This style of decision making does not only step-ups job satisfaction of employees or team members but it also helps to develop their skills. With this kind of working style of mine employees and team members feel in control of their own fate and so are prompted to work hard by more than just a financial incentive (Burns, 1978). Although this style has a number of strengths but it also has some weaknesses, which need to be managed properly.
