The first step is to realize there is a conflict and that there will be conflicts. Conflict is not bad. It often leads to ideas and progress that improves companies, interpersonal relationships, and situations.
Second, the group/people must establish rules for conflict resolution. These can be mediation, communication, negotiation, and other methods of resolution.

People must accept and agree on the resolutions methods. The rules have to be consistent and fair to be accepted. The group must establish these rules and agree to accept them as methods to solving problems.
