The company that I want to describe is the United Air Lines which is now the largest airlines in the world. The company is the owned by Unite Continental Holdings and has more than 700 aircraft. In 2010 the company merged with Continental Airlines in stock-swap agreements. The parent company is United Continental Holdings. Now the company United Air Lines is being run by Continental?s CEO Jeffery Smisek, and the United Airline?s CEO Glenn Tilton became the non-executive Chairman. Even though the US Department of Justice approved its merger the company has current problems.
The first problem is that the company is facing declining revenues. The second challenge is that its employees lack motivation and there is low productivity. The third challenge is that the customers have problems related to ticket refund, problems with lost baggage, computer problems, and service in general.
