I need help and guidance in Developing a comprehensive Management Action Plan for a real world health care resource and policy scenario.

Develop a comprehensive Management Action Plan (MAP) for a real world health care resource and policy scenario. Seven steps of the MAP:

1. Clarify the problem or Opportunity for Improvement (OFI): Clearly describe the problem or OFI that you have selected for your MAP. Why is it important to resolve this problem right now? What are the consequences of not resolving this problem right now?

2. Clarify your Measureable Goal: Clearly describe the desired outcome from your MAP implementation. What are you trying to accomplish? How will successful MAP implementation be measured and assessed? What realistic constraints do you have as you begin creation of your plan? Consider limits on time, money, and other resources that are specific to your MAP.

3. Prepare a List of Possible Actions: Consider possible root causes of the OFI. Why do you believe the problem exists? Brainstorm and present a list of all possible actions that you may need to take in order to achieve your MAP goal. At this stage, focus on generating as many different options and ideas as possible and be sure to consider ideas involving: 1) Leadership governance clinical performance 2) Physicians 3) Nurses 4) Clinical Support services 5) Knowledge management 6) Human resources 7) Financial management 8) Internal consulting 9) Marketing

*It is understood that some of these areas may not apply to this particular MAP, but all areas should at least be considered in this process.

4. Analyze and Prioritize Key Action Steps: Review your list of possible actions. What are the absolutely necessary steps that are most likely to be effective in achieving your MAP goal? Bold these Key Action Steps. Also, determine which possible action items can be dropped from your list without significant consequences to the outcome; strike through these actions.

5. Organize your Key Action Steps into a Management Action Plan: Decide on the sequencing of your Key Action Steps. Start by reviewing your bolded Key Action Steps. For each Key Action Step, what other steps must be completed before that specific action can be taken? Rearrange your Key Action Steps into a sequence of ordered activity. Then, look at your plan once again. Are there any ways to simplify the plan further before presenting it?

6. Accountability: For each Key Action Step, assign a responsible party or group within your hypothetical or actual organization (by position, department, or team name, not by individual name), and assign a suspense date by which the Key Action Step must be completed. Then, based upon all of your Key Action Steps and their suspense dates, provide a realistic completion date for the entire MAP.

7. VII. Measurement and Monitoring: Explain in detail how you will measure the success of your MAP following implementation and how you will monitor ongoing performance to prevent regression and loss of the positive change that has taken place.

I used the questions to create a general outline for you. Thank you for asking Brainmass.

1. Clarify the problem or Opportunity for Improvement (OFI): Clearly describe the problem or OFI that you have selected for your MAP. Why is it important to resolve this problem right now? What are the consequences of not resolving this problem right now?

Bedside manner: There have been a number of complaints and a few lost clients due to a lack of appropriate or sympathetic bedside manner. The reputation of the clinic and its staff depend on continuing client relationships and those clients must feel comfortable and at ease. It is difficult to pinpoint bedside manner problems in many cases, but current complaints include a lack of pleasant interaction and a number of frightening comments made within the hearing of patients and without suitable clarification.

Bedside interaction is a common complaint in healthcare. Doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals are busy, under pressure, and often carry the weight of life and death on their shoulders. Patients are also under pressure, concerned about their health and costs of healthcare among other things. This then becomes a delicate balance to discover the type of interaction each patient wants and needs.

With the loss of at least four clients, and two official complaints, the possible outcomes if the problem is not addressed, are loss of more patients and a growing reputation in the community that is unacceptable. Patient referrals are important to clinics and individual practices. Avoiding a healthcare facility for any reason can be detrimental to the facility, but also the patient who may need care in a timely manner.

This action plan will clarify the appropriate behaviors. It will also address discussions of patients, how to perform procedures in ways that comfort and remain positive with the patient.

2. Clarify your Measureable Goal: Clearly describe the desired outcome from your MAP implementation. What are you trying to accomplish?
A better level of patient care and consideration that is high on customer service while remaining true to the needs of the patient and confidentiality.

A better way to establish the patient-healthcare worker relationship. Not every individual needs the same level of interaction, just like they do not need the same level of care.

How will successful MAP implementation be measured and assessed?

A plan will be created and office staff, nurses, and doctors given the new updated patient care plan. Patients will be given a plan as well, describing the requirements for staff and asking for feedback. Feedback will be tracked and areas that need improvement will be updated again. Data will be assessed for quality controls. Personnel will be assessed for training needs and those skills will be updated. A ...
