Facts

The Society of Llyod's is an insurance market place, but not an insurance company in itself. The individual underwriting members or names can join together here if they want to underwrite a particular type of business. The Lloyd's insurance is governed by Lloyd's Corporation. Plaintiffs, Andrew Hauck and West Shell represent a reputed class of Cincinnati based wealthy people, who planned to invest in Lloyd's as Names and made an individual agreement for that.

Suffering the recent losses that were expected to surpass profits, plaintiffs filed the case on November 1, 1993 in the Court of Common Pleas, Hamilton County, Ohio. The allegation ...
