Currently, my position is Store Manager (Starbucks); my goal is to become Operations Manager at Starbucks in five year time. If I become Operations Manager at Starbucks in five years or less time, I will consider my self successful. My plan will affect my work life in several ways. I will focus more on financial performance, development of new personnel and improving the overall performance of the store. The trends that I need to be aware of are that currently there is a severe recession in the marketplace and Starbucks is reducing the overall number of employees. This makes it all the more difficult for me to get the position of operations managers (1). I am aware that only the best store managers will get the operations manager position.
