In past research studies, ethics was not always practiced and as a result, subjects were tortured, lied to, and suffered greatly due to side effects. Now, ethical standards are put into practice to avoid unethical treatments of humans subjects.

The standards for determining the quality of research include the credibility; whether the participants are truthful in their interviews, applicability; whether the information will be applicable and helpful to other researchers, consistency; whether the information is dependable and consistent across participants, and neutrality; whether the information can be confirmed and supported by academic journals. Integrity refers to the aspect of honesty and transparency in doing things. In qualitative research, integrity is of paramount importance since it enhances authenticity of one's work. This will be reflected in the researcher's study using the IRB and the disclosure agreement or waiver to fully disclose information to the review board and participants. Triangulation is a key principle in qualitative research that entails cross-examination of results so as to enhance credibility of the research process. It is widely believed that using various methods to test the results obtained in a given study enhance the credibility of that particular research process. The researcher plans to use the following triangulation methods; in-depth interviews, documents, and focus group observations. To guarantee trustworthiness, the researcher will consider having a co-researcher. If unable to get a co-researcher the primary researcher will then use interpretive research. According to Creswell (2006), trustworthiness can be earned through interpretive research, which refers to a chain of documentations that others can read and interpret. All written accounts must be relative to the audience and compelling.
