Society should definitely put limits on scientific pursuits when they defy the ethics and morals that are upheld by the society. Society can put limits on scientific pursuits under the following circumstances:
a)Unethical treatment of animals: Some of the scientific investigations that are undertaken in the field of medical sciences utilize innocent animals such as monkeys, gorillas,pigeons, dogs and cats. They are treated in an unethical manner by chaining, caging, and testing new medicines on them, before they are finally found to be fit to be released to the market for human use. Such investigations may eventually lead to their death. Society can put limits on such issues by fighting for the right of such animals.

Society should definitely put limits on scientific pursuits when they defy the ethics and morals that are upheld by the society. Society can put limits on scientific pursuits under the following circumstances: Unethical treatment of animals, cloning of human beings, autonomy of the human subjects is under threat, grave digging and scientific investigation, which hurt the feelings of the relatives of the dead, and when politics exist in the field of science.Thus, society should possess the moral courage to voice its opinion and put limits on scientific pursuits which do not adhere to the moral and ethical aspects upheld by it, which inturn results in any of the above mentioned situations, to list only a few.
