The purpose of the study, "When Computers Go to School: How Kent School Implemented Information Technology to Enrich Teaching and Learning" (Devin, 2004) was to investigation of the impact of information technology on teaching and learning (e.g., Kent School). Kent School is a private college preparatory school in New England, and the report is prepared for the Kent School.

The author employed an 'exploratory case study' research design (see page 19). Experimental strategies were not possible, according to the author, because all faculty and students had equal access to the technology when the study began.

Data collection methods that were used in the study were surveys (student and faculties versions), interviews and faculty and focus groups (p.19). Specifically, the 10-page surveys contained questions about individual use and perception of information technology), with one survey for students and one for faculties. It also had space for comments. It is subject to the challenges to reliability and validity of the data from self-reports. The response rate was excellent (over 75%) (p. 19). ...
