Measuring Association
Go to the Resources section in this syllabus and open the file media.xls. This file contains information from a study indicating where different age groups primarily get their news. Each cell represents the number of responses from that particular group.
At the .05 level of significance, is there evidence of a significant relationship between age group and where people get their news? If so, explain the relationship. In all cases, make sure to state the null and alternative hypotheses, your statistical decision based on the outcomes (reject or fail to reject the null), and your pragmatic interpretation of the results.
