The most blatant use of statistical data is used on the cause of retention efforts by professors and the lack of money to increase pay. In the first case, a couple of years ago, the retention issue was blamed on professors in the liberal arts classes. The administration said there had been a 40% drop in the number of students who returned to school in the fall term. What they did not mention was that the drop was due to the dropping of a program that had a lot of liberal arts classes involved and the addition of healthcare administration which had limited liberal arts.
