Technology is about innovation. Innovations have always been achieved for the purpose of making things better & more efficient securing and enhancing productivity in the field of Human services. It is important that in the US, the field of Human services is broad, covering aspects of health and human services deemed to be areas necessary in securing and providing the essential needs of the most marginalized Americans - those who are least able to help themselves (HHS,2010).Technology is utilized throughout the practice. If a new technology is deemed necessary or innovative enough for adaption and utilisation in the field and office, it is finds its way into the system.

In the US, the HRSA (Health Resources and Services Administration) for example utilise the web to make them more accessible to the public. The website, http://www.hrsa.gov/ is interactive and constantly updated, providing essential news on services - grants, vaccinations, service delivery (drugs, reimbursement, clinical practice), health support systems (help for the disabled and the minorities), quality improvement, loans as well as access to data (for researchers).
