The story of the TV Show 'White Collar' from the USA network is centered on a career white collar criminal who has been chased and caught by an FBI agent several times. The forger is Neal and the FBI agent is Peter. Peter has a wife and works closely with two other agents, Diane and Jones. Neal lives in a very expensive home, in a penthouse apartment and his friend Mozzie often visits. Neal and Mozzie took control of some artifacts another criminally minded entrepreneur had when he died. This man was actually one of Neal's mentors. Neal has them, Peter suspects he might, and Diane is trying to find evidence of if they artifacts still exist after the massive fire that burned nearly everything else. Mozzie is wanting to sell the artifacts and leave town.

The relationship between Peter and Neal is both professional (Neal is now a consultant, even if he is still wearing the ankle bracelet and on a type of probation). They are also friends, if wary friends. They are close enough that Neal has changed his mind about stealing and selling and his other activities. While this is a fun and adventurous program, it does point to some incongruities in the criminal justice system, and how some types of criminals are treated.

The first scene that addresses the issue of how some white collar criminals get special privileges, is one where the FBI removes the tracking anklet from Neal, so he can go to a function. This happens often. ...
