Joshua was appointed by God to continue on leading the nation after Moses died. Joshua was Moses' protege; therefore it was inevitable for Joshua to carry out Moses' legacy. Joshua received an inheritance of territory and discovered that as long as the Lord was with him Joshua's enemies could not harm him. Psalm 91:9-10 reiterates God's divine protection to his obedient children "If you say the Lord is my refuge and you make the most high your dwelling, no harm will overtake you no disaster will come near your tent."
