Islamic modesty is different than Western modesty. Western modesty is more of a social and cultural standard. Different religious views also dictate levels of modesty in the Western culture. Even American Muslims may adopt more of the American modesty standards. The American Muslim can be found in most cities in the US dressed as casual as the average American without a head covering for the ladies, to those that are in full Muslim attire. It is a reflection of both their devotion to Allah and also the culture in which they live.
