Solution Summary

The physical attraction or appearance is the thing which opens the way for courtship, it is similar to a peacock or other birds that show their feathers or animals that fight over the female of a particular species. These are deep rooted traits in the true animal world; however, they become problematic when applied to a species which has an Id, Ego, and Superego which is tied into a complicated social system which varies from culture to culture as in humans. Nevertheless, in most cases of attraction being physically attractive or what is considered physically attractive is the first step to obtaining a mate. The next step is the evaluation of that person as a protector and provider. Once this has been satisfied than the consideration of what a person's intelligence, personality, and self concept are considered by either the man or the women.
