Social change is, simply put, the phenomenon wherein changes happen and can be seen within society. Generally, social change is referred to as a positive development, that opportunity that happens when certain elements, factors and conditions cause for ideal events to happen, which in turn leads to resolution of certain social issues. Social change is an important element in the political process. Society and social dynamics are all about politics and the question of who has the most power and influence in society, who can cause certain reforms, certain events to happen which, upon critical analysis, can result for ideal changes to happen. Social change happens, for example, when the political process leads to a reorganization of the state or nation, or when social issues are resolved or when new measures are put in place to lead towards the development of society in general and of individual citizens from a micro perspective.
