If you were going to design a study investigating the relationship between alcohol and violence, which of these methods would you choose and why?

Since we have identified two key factors i.e. alcohol intake and violence, the best research study design for this topic will be a co relational research design. With both one participant and with a group of people in this condition, such a design will ensure the accuracy and validity of the suspected or observed "correlation" between the two variables.

What would be the relative strengths and weaknesses of this study?
The strength of this design would be its focus on the selected group of individuals to study whom, the study is designed. Just like in any research study and from its findings, generalized results cannot be deduced on the basis of the sample in a given study. Unless the investigation will prove, the relationship, even positive cannot be taken for direct cause and effect. So,

What ethical considerations must be taken into account while undertaking this study?

The study conditions must not be such that deliberately participants are made to drink to a toxic level that they hurt themselves or once they lose their conscious self-control, their violent behavior is let to take place on fellow participants. Such a study will not be allowed by internal board review (irb) for the researcher to carry ...
