A study in Bristol University, England concluded that (Conroy, 2007), "Heroin and cocaine were ranked most dangerous, followed by barbiturates and street methadone. Alcohol was the fifth-most harmful drug and tobacco the ninth most harmful. Cannabis came in 11th, and near the bottom of the list was Ecstasy." It is my opinion as well. Addiction from Alcohol and Tobacco have proven working rehabilitative treatment programs overtime with much less psychological, social and biological damage to the user or addict in comparison to heroin and cocaine largely because alcohol and tobacco are regulated so that their medical and social impact has been normalized in certain sectors.
