Balance and multicultural education exemplify great ways to reduce cultural biases among therapists. I personally use the word "reduce" as opposed to "eliminate" since I feel like it is more feasible. Likewise, Pedersen suggests not only learning about how psychological resources are used in other cultures, but also about finding "...a balance of resources to fit the client's needs within that client's own cultural context" (http://www.sagepub.com/counselingstudy/Journal%20Articles/Pedersen.pdf). Pederson also advises, "The third assumption is that we must be leaders in promoting international perspectives in psychology, which is both true and not true. We must learn to become followers as well as leaders in the global context of psychology" (http://www.sagepub.com/counselingstudy/Journal%20Articles/Pedersen.pdf).
