(1) Quantitative approaches and qualitative approaches differ in the process in which research is conducted. In qualitative research, the intent is to study some phenomena. Thus, research is conducted using non-statistical procedures to explore issues by some verbal means such as: (a) questionnaires, (b) surveys, (c) grounded theories, (d) Interviews, and (e) case studies. The qualitative research seeks to understand meaning individuals give to phenomena. Data is collected from words images and observing participants. Data is analyzed using some form of text analysis (e.g., coding], themes and larger pattern or general influence.
