State and describe the four methods of determining reliability? Give a situation for each reliability method where you would anticipate each of these methods would work best.
In working with reliability in research, there are four types of methods to determine reliability. They are:
1. Re-test Method
2. Alternative Form Method
3. Split-Halves Method
4. Internal consistency Method

Each of these is a different method and I will describe each one and provide a situation for each where you would anticipate how each of these methods would work best.

RE-TEST METHOD:
This method is the most often used and the easiest to interpret reliability. When using the re-test method, the research administers the same measurement (tool, survey, questionnaire, etc.) to the participants after a period of time to see if their results are similar to the first time they participated. Remember, this is not a pre/post type of measurement, but a RE test measurement. Are the results the same each and every time the measurement is applied?
