Effective Communication in the Courtroom

According to Cowles (2011), "in any courtroom a great deal of communication occurs: the witnesses, clients, attorneys, jury members, and judges all communicate amongst themselves. Attorneys, in particular, are essential in the outcome of a court case. They communicate all of the facts of the case, along with their client's arguments, to the judge and/or jury that rules on the case." Essentially, the communication or public speaking skills of a courtroom lawyer is deeply influential in connecting to the jury, the judge and all who take interest in the case, especially if it was a televised proceeding. This was exemplified, according to Mills (2004) Brown v.
