Alder's Individual Psychology Theory emphasizes the individual and their interpersonal actions (Chou, 2009). It states that through interactions, at a conscious level of awareness, personality is developed. This development makes each one of us unique. Since we each have different interactions and reactions to those interactions we have different 'problems' and different ways of addressing these problems.
