In research it is especially imperative that researchers follow all the ethical codes set by the American Psychological Association (APA). Personally, I feel that the most prominent ethical code is APA Standard 3.04 which is to avoid harm (APA, 2010). There have been many instances in research that have caused more harm than good, even though the research study benefited research, the research subjects did not benefit from the study.
