To choose a topic and not a term, start by stating a problem, e.g., Absenteeism of students.
The topic is too broad. Take "students" they can be "gifted students" "students of poverty" "third grade students"

Six articles
Use your universities search bases which you can find under library online, choose ebscohost and select SocIndex (Sociological abstracts), PsycInfo, PsycARTICLEs, using the terms in your detailed topic. Narrow your search by choosing full text, going back only 10 years, and peer reviewed.

Also add the word qualitative to the detailed topic, e. g., "Qualitative absenteeism of students of poverty", for one search. Add "quantitative" for the second search, and then add "mixed methods" to a third search. For each search, choose two articles that you can read for meaning moderately or easily.
