Democracy is the best form of government:
1) Democracies tend not go to war with each other (See "democratic peace theory" for multiple sources you can use)
2) Democracies tend to respect human rights at home and abroad (See the UN Charter as a potential source document http://www.un.org/aboutun/charter/)
If human rights are indeed universal (all human beings are entitled to basic human rights) - then surely political rights (free speech, etc) are included among these basic human rights.
Non-democratic countries are then denying a basic human right (political representation).
