Should the United States support the formation of League of Democracies (or global NATO?)

One of the primary arguments that the United States should support the formation of a league of democracies (or global NATO), is due to the fact that this would exponentially increase the level of military power that democracies have. Although NATO contains a formidable military, the formation of a global NATO or league of democracies would exponentially increase the military capabilities that are available to these democracies that can be utilized in a coordinated effort by which to be able to stop atrocities in conflicts taking place in Third World countries, and other areas. In addition, this tremendous force would exponentially increase the level of manpower, equipment, and intelligence resources that could be utilized to fight Worldwide, terrorism. This would serve to take some of the burden for international peacekeeping off of the United States, and the present UN and NATO forces. This was served to exponentially enhance the national security of the United States, as well as international security as a whole. Due to these factors, this is a tremendously important argument for the support of the formation of a league of democracies by the United States.
