There is a vat of wine with a tap at the bottom and a water faucet at the top. The tap is open and draining wine at a certain rate. The water faucet is adding water at the same rate, keeping the volume the same. How do I determine the concentration of the wine for any moment?© BrainMass Inc. brainmass.com October 9, 2019, 6:46 pm ad1c9bdddf
In such questions it is usually implicitely assumed that the water and wine are instantly and perfectly mixed, and we use this asumption as well.
Suppose the rate of flow of mixture out is R (volume unit / time unit).
Since the rate of flow of water in is the same, the volume of water in the vat V = ...
