Area of Region

Find the area of the region bounded by the following graphs: y=x^2 ; y=8-x^2 ; and y=x^2+6.

I first figured out the area of (8-x^2) minus (x^2) using integral from -2 to 2 and found 64/3 . Then I figured out the area of (8-x^2) minus (x^2+6) using integral -1 to 1 and found 4. I then just subtracted these two regions from one another and got 52/3. Does this sound right?

Solution Summary

The area of a region is found through integrals.
