<br>Use the relation x = [-b(+/-)(b^2-4ac)^1/2]/2a
<br>

<br>
<br>Thus x = [-(-1)(+/-)((-1)^2-4 x1x(-1) )^1/2]/2
<br>
<br> = {1(+/-)[5]^(1/2)}/2
