Solution: we have on simplification 3x - x 2 = x ( 3 - x )

With the inequality , it becomes ... x ( 3 - x ) > 0

That makes two options ... either both got to be positive or both got to be negative .

Case (i) : when both are positive ... x > 0 and ( 3 - x ) > 0

Consider the second part here ... 3 - x > 0

which would be ... - x > - 3

That reduces further to .... x < 3

Combining both the parts we get our first solution region as : x > 0 and x < 3
