    Step 1
There are several types of errors people make in reasoning; some of them are as follows. They depend on thoughts and ideas that cannot be tested; they use ambiguous language, and use scientific phrases to appear logical. While reasoning, substantiation is required. People make errors in substantiation when they use similarities, selective evidence, and stories. Also people make errors in reasoning when they lack direct ways of acting for the object under study. Some other types of errors in reasoning are presenting clichés as facts, opinions as facts, and poly-semantic words to distort facts. Finally, people make the error of rationalizing what they want to do.

    Step 2
For example, a person presents his own opinion to support an error. I am of the opinion that the world is flat. Alternately, just as my plate is flat, and the road is flat, the world is also flat not round.
