This allows organized crime gangs the ability to stop work on construction sites that don't pay their bribes through the use of these unions that are able to compel workers to stop working efficiently enough for the job to be completed. In addition, the mafia also uses this tactic in the transportation industry in regard to preventing work throughout the supply chain by infiltrating freight businesses, which all companies rely upon.
