Should the American government focus the bulk of its law enforcement resources on fighting organized crime, or counter-terrorism?

America should focus the bulk of its resources on fighting organized crime as these syndicates create more havoc and mayhem than any terrorist organization. These groups are responsible for a myriad of criminal activities including murder, extortion, racketeering, drug dealing, human trafficking, and other sordid offenses. These organizations operate year round without any delineation from their criminal ventures. Therefore, law enforcement should ensure that they appropriate their resources toward fighting these organizations throughout the year, which is hampered by focusing more on counter-terrorism.

Organized crime has been in America since the founding of the country. The definition of organized is any clandestine group that operates together working toward the similar goal of attaining wealth either monetarily or otherwise through illicit criminal activities committed by all members within the organization.
