The investigative issue in this scenario was an actual occurrence of an outbreak of gastroenteritis that occurred at an unspecified university in the state of Texas. The outbreak was centered on the campus deli bar and over 100 students were affected by the outbreak. It represented a health threat to students at the college and lasted for almost 1 week.
