It is quite evident that the field of public health would look much different without the contributions of James Lind. This is largely due to the fact that the field of public health would possibly be without the very important health related experimental methodology known as a clinical trial. This is due to the fact that it is widely accepted in the scientific and/or health community that James Lee had conducted the first clinical trial, in order to ascertain methods by which to prevent scurvy.
