This is largely due to the fact that the field of public health would possibly be without the very important health related experimental methodology known as a clinical trial. This is due to the fact that it is widely accepted in the scientific and/or health community that James Lee had conducted the first clinical trial, in order to ascertain methods by which to prevent scurvy.
