1. Why do you think some writers choose to write poetry rather than fiction or nonfiction? Which do you prefer, and why?

I prefer the compact, concise expressive of poetry. Its lyrical qualities and figurative language usage appeal to me. I am able to focus my attention more on poetry due to its brevity.

It's like art on a page for me in terms of the creative, abstract themes and styles that poetry evokes. From e.e. cummings to Emily Dickinson, poetry touches my heart because it is much like song lyrics for me in rhythm and style.
