The letter is published in the local newspaper. He then required his journalism students to also write letters to the local newspaper criticizing the salary freeze proposal for teachers. First of all, based on the word "required," I do think that the teacher in your teacher's scenario greatly abused his/her power by forcing the journalism students to also write letters to the local newspaper, criticizing the salary freeze proposal for teachers. Although I do not see own personal letter writing as a reason for termination since he/she does have a right to be upset as a citizen and teacher about the salary freeze, I do think that ...
