As you brainstorm what happens in the brain when the emotional and social systems are triggered, I feel that learning is activated when kids feel engaged, enthused, and involved in learning socially, emotionally, and cognitively. Research shows that effective learning "in the emotional system requires a level of comfort where chronic anxiety, fear, and anger can be avoided.
