We have recently started experimenting with a limited version of the block schedule at our school. Prior to this current year we had always had an 8 period traditional day. Several factors influenced our decision. Students seemed to have a lot of homework each night, teachers were teaching 5-6 classes with as many as 4 preps, and much time was used in passing time between periods.
