Describe an ideal classroom situation
I have been a teacher for over 12 years. I have taught at an alternative school and two different high schools. Based on my experiences, I have several suggestions for an ideal classroom situation.
First, there should be plenty of space to facilitate grouping of students for various tasks. This is not present in high school classrooms. Most elementary school classrooms have more space and allow for grouping of students, but this disappears in secondary schools where the number of students per class skyrockets from 25 up to 40 students per class. If you break students into groups in a small classroom, it gets very noisy and sometimes the learning task cannot be accomplished at all.
There are many things a teacher can do to create an ideal classroom situation.
