The Cuban Missile Crisis (CMC) is a scenario that is used by numerous universities around the world. A primary reason for its use in this course is that almost all the classified documents (including Top Secret) from the CMC have been declassified which allows a more complete picture of what happened. This allows the course and the students to avoid fewer speculative areas. In addition, this was the scenario where the U.S. came the closest to being in a nuclear war since the dawn of the atomic age. The focus of the CMC for this course is primarily on grand strategy, intelligence, and the importance of accurate history.

// The Cuban Missile Crisis also termed as CMC was the major clash that brought the Soviet Union and the United States close to war because of the existence of Soviet nuclear missiles in Cuba. Thus, in this context, we will proceed to determine the grand strategy, accurate history, and intelligence behind the CMC. The below discussion includes describing key aspects of the CMC //
Introduction and Describing key aspects of the Cuban Missile Crisis (CMC)
The CMC took place in the month of October in the year 1962 which was a dangerous and direct conflict between the Soviet Union and The US at the time of the cold war. This was the moment when two highly powerful nations came closer to each other for a nuclear conflict. Moreover, the CMC crisis was spate in a variety of ways as it featured calculations as well as miscalculations and secret and direct miscommunications and communications between the US and Soviet Union (Barrett & Holland, 2012). Further, the dramatic conflict was also featured by the findings that it was initially played out from the Kremlin level and the White House with relatively very little input or suggestions from the concerned bureaucracies generally included in the transnational policy procedure. The reason for the USA and the Soviet Union coming closer to a nuclear war was because the president of the US got images of the launch sites for the missiles in Cuba. The group thinking of the official during the crisis lead to the formation of an executive committee and the reason why the CMC was extensive is that Cuba or the location was significantly close to the US and the world was not in favour of nuclear war among two most powerful nations (Mintz & Barr, 2021).
Therefore, the CMC demonstrates and relates groupthink as the Executive Committee required working in a collaborative manner in order to mitigate the happening of war and make the best decision for the overall prosperity of the US. Further, the success and failure of such a crisis could be measured in the final outcomes of the crisis. Moreover, the success factor is associated with the overall successful crisis management in which the nuclear weapons placed by the Soviet Union in Cuba were removed or dismantled, and the United States agreed on the terms that they will not invade Cuba in the absence of direct provocation (Catania, 2017). Therefore, the CMC ended or failed in a peaceful manner and the Soviet Union removed the warheads in return for the US pulling its own warheads and missiles from Turkey. Therefore, the final key success factor of the CWC was the probability of nuclear war was ended, the prestige of Kennedy at the global level enhanced, Cuba maintained the position of a communist state and the threat of a nuclear war risk decreased. However, on the other side, the failure of the CWC include the US was joyful to carry its missiles in Turkey along with other European areas and still prepared for complaining about Cuba and many in the Soviet Union felt humiliated as their president was forced to remove the warheads from Cuba (Thompson, 2017).
Further, there were various important areas in the overall CMC but one of the essential areas was associated with the removal of American missiles from Turkey. It is because American missiles were dismantled from Turkey but a secret agreement was constructed and Khrushchev appeared for having accomplished nothing in return for dismantling the warheads from Cuba. Moreover, Khrushchev was removed ...
