Environmental health entails the assessment and control of environmental factors that can potentially affect our health. Environmental health is a sub-discipline of public health, and as such is targeted towards preventing disease and creating health-supportive environments (World Health Organization, 2012) (WHO). Air pollution, asbestos, and exposures to chemicals and carcinogenic (cancer-causing) agents, climate change, water and sanitation are all aspects of particular importance and relatedness to environmental health.
