Rare Earth Elements

Contrary to what the name suggests, rare earth elements (RRE) are actually plentiful on earth (i.e. Cerium is actually the 25th most abundant element on earth). RREs are (Periodni, n.d.), "a collection of seventeen chemical elements in the periodic table, specifically the fifteen lanthanides plus scandium and yttrium. Scandium and yttrium are considered rare earth elements since they tend to occur in the same ore deposits as the lanthanides and exhibit similar chemical properties. They are divided into light REE (Scandium, Yttrium, Lanthanum, Cerium, Praseodymium, Neodymium, Promethium, Samarium, Europium and ...
